RPK Group, Udapa, and Club Ciclista Zuyano Join Forces to Promote Women's Cycling

A project with Club Ciclista Zuyano gives young female cyclists from Álava, aged 14 to 16, a chance to compete in their home province, fostering women's sports and helping them balance education and athletics.

In the province of Álava, opportunities for young female cyclists aged 14 to 16 were virtually non-existent. Unlike their male counterparts, who have up to six teams to pursue their dreams, girls had to leave Álava to develop their sports careers. This not only complicated logistics but also made it more difficult to balance their studies with their passion for cycling.

Aware of this gap and driven by a commitment to their community, more than 12 months ago, RPK Group, in collaboration with Udapa, decided to partner with Club Ciclista Zuyano to create the first female u16 cycling team in Álava. This project aims to give young girls the opportunity to compete in both cyclocross and road cycling without having to leave their province or sacrifice their studies.

This weekend, the team debuted in Medina de Pomar and Villarcayo, proudly wearing the beautiful jersey designed in collaboration with Kalas. This first step marks the beginning of a journey that RPK Group, Udapa, and the other project partners hope will be long and successful. The initiative reflects RPK's commitment—as an industrial cooperative with over 50 years of history—to being an agent of change in its community, promoting equal opportunities and local development.
